
Zia Perko Rogelj
ROLE
SPEAKERZia Perko Rogelj has a degree in Communication and Media studies. She gained valuable experience working at the Public Institution “Young Dragons,” the reference body for youth work in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she was engaged as a (street) youth worker and participated in various Erasmus+ projects. She was one of the co-founders of Radio Eter, the first online radio station in Slovenia created by and for young people. Zia has also worked at the Youth Network MaMa, a national umbrella NGO uniting 55 organizations operating youth centers or active in the youth work field across Slovenia. There, she led social campaigns and managed the social media profiles of organizations and public figures, combining strategic communication with digital outreach. As part of her communication work, she also contributed to mlad.si, the national online portal for young people and youth organizations in Slovenia, further amplifying youth voices and promoting engagement through digital storytelling and information-sharing. She is an active member of the Advisory Council on Youth and plays a key role in the Policy Team of CONNECT International. Within this role, Zia contributes to the development, promotion, and advocacy of policy recommendations in the field of digital transformation and youth rights. She was responsible for coordinating and monitoring CONNECT International’s representative in the process. Her commitment to digital youth work and digital rights advocacy reflects her deep understanding of emerging technologies and their impact on young people, while her hands-on experience in youth-centered digital initiatives positions her as a strong voice for innovation and inclusion in the digital age.
