Deputy ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of North Macedonia

Manon Janssen currently serves as the Deputy Ambassador and Deputy Head of Mission of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Skopje, North Macedonia (since September 2024). Prior to this role, she was Deputy Head of Mission at the Netherlands’ Embassy in Algiers from 2021 to 2024. From 2012 to 2021, she worked as a Senior Policy Officer at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she was responsible for Dutch political relations with Turkey and later served at the Bureau of the Secretary-General coordinating MFA input for Ministerial Council meetings. Between 2008 and 2012, she was a Policy Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement, focusing on environmental dossiers for EU candidate and potential candidate countries in the Western Balkans and Turkey. Earlier in her career, she worked as a consultant in Indonesia, developing a strategic action plan on corporate governance (2006–2007) and preparing a business plan and media campaign for the Netherlands International School in Jakarta (2005–2006).
