Kristijan Lazarev

Kristijan Lazarev is the co-founder and president of the Association for Accessibility and Inclusion (AAI) and a master's student in Project Management at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in Skopje. He brings extensive experience in developing, localizing, and utilizing digital tools to improve the daily lives, learning, and work of people with disabilities.
Kristijan is an internationally certified accessibility specialist through the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) and a member of the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe (AAATE). He actively contributes to several working bodies focused on aligning EU accessibility and inclusion legislation with North Macedonia's national legal framework on disability rights and accessibility.
In the past 5 years, he has played a key role in various research projects in accessibility, assistive technology, and linguistics. In addition, he has delivered guest lectures, participated in public debates, and spoken at conferences, seminars, webinars, and study visits both nationally and internationally. Kristijan has also led numerous training sessions on accessibility and assistive technology for teachers, students and other professionals working for people with disabilities.
As an author and co-author of several publications on accessibility and disability rights, Kristijan is committed to advocating for inclusivity. Lately, he has been exploring the potential of artificial intelligence to break down societal barriers and enhance the lives of people with disabilities.
